Made in MD: Cardin Plugs Into Spirit of Innovation at Roboteam.

Senator learns more about life-saving, high-tech products

GAITHERSBURG, Md. – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) recently took his “Made in Maryland” jobs tour, which celebrates the diversity of Maryland-made products and the Marylanders who make them, to Roboteam Inc., a leading global provider of tactical ground robotic systems.

The senator met the company’s leaders and employees, many of whom are military veterans, and learned more about its unique history, innovative development processes and accomplishments in the field. Senator Cardin also saw a demonstration of Roboteam’s diverse product line in action.

“Maryland’s economy is fueled to a growing degree by companies dedicated to notching continual technological breakthroughs, and that can-do spirit is clearly exemplified by Roboteam’s leaders and staff,” said Senator Cardin, a senior member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. “Roboteam’s workforce consists largely of military veterans who are highly mindful of the real-world demands faced by America’s warfighters. The company’s impressive staff and operations are striving to better equip our military forces, keeping them out of harm’s way, and have poised the company for considerable future growth.”

Roboteam designs, develops and manufactures cutting-edge, user-oriented, multi-purpose, unmanned platforms and controllers for defense, law enforcement and public safety missions. The company is a global operation with offices in the U.S. and Israel, serving a wide spectrum of customers with several lines of products.

“We appreciate Senator Cardin’s interest and encouragement for our company, our team and our robotic technology supporting our military,” said Shahar Abuhazira, CEO of Roboteam, Inc. “During his upcoming visit to our headquarters we will provide a demonstration of our platforms and our predominantly veteran team will share how this technology is protecting the modern day warfighter. It is a wonderful honor to welcome Senator Cardin and showcase the innovation and technology happening right here in Maryland.”
